Hello!
We are Bill and Robin. Even though we don’t know each other yet, we admire your strength, courage and love for considering adoption for your child. This decision will enable another family like ours to love and nurture your child and give them the best in life. We realize this will be the most difficult decision you may ever make in your life, and we hope you find peace in your heart as you consider your options.
Our beginnings…
We first met in second grade and were reunited again right before our senior year in high school. We became high school sweethearts and continued to date through our college years. We dated a total of seven years and were married in 1994. We have been happily married for 13 years and have adopted two beautiful little boys. We couldn’t imagine life without them. They are so much fun and have added so much joy to our lives.
Why we want to adopt again…
We are now ready to welcome another child into our home and lives. We are hoping to give our sons a little sister and to give her the pink room that has been waiting for her. The nursery has been put together and decorated. We have lots of clothes and toys but even more importantly, we have a tremendous amount of love to share with your child.
Bill…
Bill has been a police officer for 15 years. He enjoys being a police officer because he loves helping people. His work schedule has flexible hours which has proven to be very beneficial for our family. Bill is a wonderful father because he enjoys helping out in every part of our sons’ lives. He likes to play with the kids, watch cartoons together, go for bike rides, and go on walks where he has them bring back treasures (flowers) for mommy. Bill loves going to the zoo, parks and swimming lessons with the boys. In his spare time, Bill enjoys playing ice hockey, skating, rollerblading, watching movies and having our friends to the house to visit and play board games with.
Robin…
Robin is a very dedicated kindergarten teacher and has been teaching for 15 years. Her greatest joy is watching children grow emotionally, socially and intellectually. Teaching is not only a rewarding job, but allows Robin time at home with our children on holidays, school vacations and summer recess. Our children attend daycare and will go to preschool with Robin until they are ready for Kindergarten. Robin loves singing, dancing and doing arts and “crafty” type projects with the boys like she does at school. She also enjoys taking the boys to the zoo, parks and library. One of her favorite things to do is “tubbie time” with the kids and then reading them stories right before bed. Besides being a great mom, Robin enjoys reading, scrapbooking and bike riding.
Our children…
Devin and Darrin are our most precious treasures. Their smiles and laughter give us endless joy and fill our hearts with happiness. Devin is our handsome actor who is very dramatic and funny. He loves to swim, bike, listen to music and dance. He is very caring and affectionate and has a contagious smile and laugh. Darrin is our comedian. He is always doing or saying something to make us laugh and is always happy and full of energy. He enjoys riding his bike, going to playgrounds and climbing, and going for walks. Darrin also likes doing crafts ands loves listening to stories. They are so excited about having a new baby in the house and can’t wait to be the best big brothers ever!
Our families & friends…
Our parents are so exciting about becoming grandparents again. They’re hoping for a granddaughter since the last baby girl in the family was 26 years ago. Friends and family that we have spoken with about adopting a little girl have been excited for us and very supportive. We are fortunate, because both of our parents live less than 15 minutes from us. Our parents have always been there to help us with the boys and love to come over and visit. Devin and Darrin love being spoiled by their grandmothers and getting horseback rides from grandpa and watching papa juggle. Their aunt, uncle, and cousins all live close by, and their aunt and cousin baby sat them until they were ready for preschool. They played with their one year old cousin several times a week for almost a year. Their aunt and uncle have taken them to the movies, zoo, parks, Sesame Street Live and the Doodlebops. We have many friends who come over to visit and they all have children near their age to play with. Our house is the “hub” for family gatherings at holiday time – Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Our home & community…
We live in western Pennsylvania. Our home is a two-story house with four bedrooms, a fenced-in yard and a newly finished basement. We have turned the basement into a huge “underwater” playroom. It resembles water and sand with characters from Finding Nemo. Our two sons are painted on the wall sitting inside a boat. We left a space in between them in hopes to add a little sister. The nursery is right across from our bedroom and is decorated in a “Suzy-Zoo” pattern. We live in an area that has many amusement parks, water parks, a state park, a zoo, libraries, several playgrounds and many theaters.
Our pets…
We share our home with two cats, Whiskers and Marbles. Both cats are docile, friendly and extremely affectionate. They love to sit on our laps and purr. When we adopted our sons, the cats didn’t get as much attention until the boys started walking. Now they get more attention than I think they ever wanted.
Fun times…
We enjoy ice-skating, rollerblading, playing hockey, watching movies, traveling, playing board games and entertaining family and friends. Our favorite vacations include Disney World, Universal Studios, Splash Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins at Discovery Cove, Cedar Point amusement park, Toronto, Six Flags, Sea World, Presque Isle State Park, and visiting many zoos. In the spring, we plant flowers, have Easter egg hunts and celebrate Darrin’s birthday. During the summer, we enjoy going to swimming and building sandcastles at the beach, going to amusement parks, visiting the zoo, and playing outside. In the fall, we have fun at the pumpkin farm, playing in the leaf piles, and enjoy decorating the house for Halloween. During the winter we celebrate Devin’s birthday, make snow angels, build snow forts, go on sled rides, and decorate the house and tree for Christmas.
Our faith…
We are Methodist and attend church regularly. We also volunteer to work in the nursery. We currently attend a bible study class that helps to strengthen our marriage, life and relationship with God. We chose our church because we love our pastor and all the educational opportunities for both children and adults. We know that God will bless us with a daughter and bless you with reassurance that your baby will be well cared for. We believe there is a reason why we can’t get pregnant and that adoption was our answer to being parents.
Open adoption…
We believe it is important to let our children know from the very beginning that they are adopted. We always remind them that their birth parents love them and placed them for adoption out of love. They know that even though they grew in someone else’s belly, they grew in our hearts.
We are honored to have an open adoption with our son Darrin’s birthfamily. We get together with them several times a year, usually for birthdays and Christmas. What a blessing for all of us!
Your child will be very loved and given the best in life. We will commit ourselves to give her everything she needs to become happy, healthy and successful. To ensure this, we would always be willing to keep in touch through photos, letters and/or visits, if that is your wish.
